The processor of the Galaxy S21 is official: Samsung announces the new Exynos 2100.
Under the motto “Exynos is back”, Samsung has presented his new one Benchmark processor for mobile platforms, the Exynos 2100. This is the chip that will most likely mount the new one Galaxy S21 in its European edition.
The Exynos 2100 is the company’s first processor integrated 5G modem and built based on 5 nanometer format EUV. With this, Samsung wants to convince everyone who has lost confidence in the Exynos brand after lagging behind Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 series chips for several years.
Samsung Exynos 2100, all information
Samsung states that the team responsible for developing this platform worked with the goal create the most experience bonus within mobile platforms and claim that the Exynos 2100 is the chip more advanced left their factories to this day.
It is a platform based on a 5 nanometer format, with a built-in 5G modem with support for NSA and SA networks and an 8-core CPU with structure Tri-clusteraround the new núcleo ARM Cortex-X1 High performance, capable with a maximum frequency of 2.9 GHz.
Together with him we find others three Cortex-A78 cores and four Cortex-A55 cores aimed at higher energy efficiency.
This new structure, added to the 5 nanometer format, promises improvements in the 30% multi-core performanceand 20% less energy consumption.
The GPU included with the chip is the Arm Mali-G78, which supports the latest Vulkan and OpenCL APIs deliver up to 40% higher performance compared to the previous edition.
Samsung explains that Artificial intelligence capabilities this new platform has been strengthened by a new one neural processing unit Triple core with structural improvements and support for new technologies. This is how the Exynos 2100 perform up to 26 TOPS – trillion operations per second –while reducing energy consumption by half.
With the new Integrated ISP at the SoCSamsung has support for Camera sensors up to 200 megapixels, including improvements to zoom aspects and the ability to Decode 8K videos in AV1 format.
The company has confirmed that the Exynos 2100 is already in mass productionSo we can expect to see the first devices based on this chip in the coming weeks. We’ll probably know more about his capabilities once the new one Samsung Galaxy S21 are with us from January 14th.
